 Why Choose Five Points Learning for Pod Learning

With uncertainty reigning over schools this year, Five Points Learning is offering enrichment opportunities for elementary and middle school students looking to stay challenged throughout the school year. With both in-person and virtual options, students will work on enrichment activities in math, reading, writing, and science. For families looking to create their own learning pods, curriculums can be customized to fit the needs of your group’s students.

For families interested in our in-person instruction option, we are following CDC guidelines to keep our office spaces safe and clean. For families interested in virtual instruction, we have designed and developed a new learning model specific to a virtual environment as well as new technology that enables us to create a more engaging virtual instructional environment for students and teachers alike. This past summer we tested both the new model and the new technology with our students in Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 4th grade, with classes up to 6 students at a time. The results were phenomenal. Students were excited and engaged, despite classes being 2 hours in length for Kindergarten and 1st graders and 3 hours in length for our 2nd and 4th graders. Feedback was universally positive from students, parents, and teachers alike. Students made substantial academic progress and saw improvements in motivation and confidence.

 In-Person Learning Pods (Park Slope, Brooklyn)

We have in-office tutoring at our Park Slope, Brooklyn location where we are following CDC guidelines. All students, family members dropping students, and Five Points Learning staff will be required to wear masks at all times. Students will have their temperatures taken before entering our office and that information as well as their time of arrival and departure will be logged for each session. Cleanings will happen between each session with all surfaces cleaned per CDC guidelines. Any student that is sick or has been exposed to a sick person, will be removed from the pod immediately. That student will only be re-admitted into the pod upon submitting a negative COVID test. Once sessions have been filled up, we will begin a waitlist. If a seat opens up, we will reach out to families on our waitlist in the order families were added.

Families can pay tuition on a weekly, monthly, or semester basis. Sessions are held every weekday. Simply chosse the number of sessions you would like your student to participate in and let us know which days work best.
