Course Description

Learn how to write for both print newspapers and for online media outlets. Holly, the instructor of this course, will employ her years of experience working as a reporter to supply an up-to-date and comprehensive course on writing for the media. In this course, students will write their own original articles. Students may write articles about current events, local politics, music, food, scientific studies, wellness, or other interests. We’ll lead them through the process from start to finish: brainstorming ideas, pitching, conducting original reporting, researching, writing, and editing. This class is ideal for students interested in modern forms of writing and journalism.
